  • Cadenza head honcho Luciano will be in town next week for the CMJ conference. One of minimal techno's biggest DJs and the owner of a recently released Fabric mix, it'll be the first time that the Swiss wonder has been to Gotham this year. Instead of a command performance, however, he'll be slotted among a whole host of dance music luminaries at Irving Plaza at one of the festival's few token electronic-oriented showcases. Performing alongside the man will be 2 Many DJs, Soulwax, James Lavelle, Rob Da Bank, Late of the Pier, The Whip and the man who put it all together Pete Tong. (Tong-y will be recording all of the sets for future broadcast on his Radio 1 Essential Mix show.) Word to the wise: Each DJ/band will be playing short sets, so make sure to check times carefully to avoid disappointment. Nonetheless, in celebration, RA is giving away a ticket to one lucky reader the chance to see Luciano with a friend. Also on the CMJ docket next week will be the Fools Gold Showcase, which will made more nods to electronic than most with the likes of A-Trak, Kavinsky, Kid Sister, Flosstradamus and more set to perform at Webster Hall throughout the night.
