Drum n bass legend LTJ Bukem breaks years of mix comp silence with a new CD/DVD recorded at Serbia’s Exit festival. Bukem In Session – Live At Exit drops at the end of April.
Bukem has been a fixture on drum n bass scene since the early nineties, forgoing the hardcore rave sounds for a jazzier, more experimental approach. After starting the Good Looking imprint in 1991 he released ten volumes in the Progression Sessions series with MC Conrad, all live mixes recorded at different shows around the world.
Ten years later, Bukem in Session… records the pair appearance at Exit festival, held at the Petrovaradin fortress in Serbia. Exit ‘07 brought in over 190,000 people for four days last July, and this release’s DVD is a multi-angle shoot of the pair’s hour-long set.
Defying the dnb DJ trends at just 13 tracks—about half the average—Bukem’s mix makes plenty of room for oldboy dnb peers A-Sides, Utah Jazz and Funky Technicians (a.k.a. Total Science) alongside up-and-comers Calibre, Redeyes and Drumsound & Bassline Smith.
