  • Top shelf Italo is on the menu at the upcoming Bleep43 night at Corsica Studios. Bleep43 have made us wait until April to kick off their parties for 2008—but with this on the lineup, we forgive them. Headlining is I-F, feted as one of the best DJs in the world. Now normally such praise would be met with derision, but for someone who single-handedly kick-started the Italo revival with his Mixed up in the Hague compilation (incredibly released way back in 2000) for once we believe the hype. I-F has been at the centre of European dance music for two decades, and whether he will be playing brain mangling acid techno a la his recently compilation on Atlantik Wall or Euro pop is anybody's guess, but it will almost certainly be top stuff. It will also almost certainly be very loud thanks to the great sound system at Corsica Studios, the two-arch warehouse-style cavern located in the ominous concrete jungle of Elephant and Castle. Short of Electrowerkz or a car park, there are few places better to hear this music along with the solid support from the likes of DJ Stingray and two Ai Records showcases.
