  • Warp great white hope Clark swaps experimental electronics for the dancefloor on his new longplayer. Turning Dragon arrives at the end of January. Warp might have abandoned synths in favour of math rock and guitars in recent years but at least Clark has been carrying the flame—his coming-of-age third longplayer Body Riddle even had critics tipping him as Warp's successor to Richard D. James. Clark describes his fourth album Turning Dragon as a move away from the lush emotive electronics of Body Riddle towards more club-focused tracks: "Alongside Body Riddle I’d written a lot of full energy dance floor tracks and Turning Dragon just came from honing and building on these. It all happened pretty instinctively I hardly gave it any conscious thought, other than 'keep weird working hours and the good stuff will come through'. Within 4 weeks I had tons of dancefloor tracks… seems a bit weird to not put them out so... here they are, "says (Christopher) Clark.
