C2 and Augé & de Rosnay will be suiting up for the 50th annual Grammy Awards in February.
The Grammys aren't exactly known for getting it right (or even coming close) when it comes to dance/electronic music, but this year it looks like they have their finger on the pulse in at least one category. Carl Craig is up for a nomination in the Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical category for his rethink of the Junior Boys' 'Like a Child' where he’s up against Andy Moor, Eric Prydz, Dirty South and Benny Benassi. If C2 doesn't win, we'll go on strike.
Elsewhere, Justice's 'D.A.N.C.E' gets the industry nod, up against previous Grammy winners The Chemical Brothers (for 'Do It Again') and Justin Timberlake (for 'Love Stoned/I Think She Knows') for Best Dance Recording. R'n'B songstress Rhianna and pop star Mika fill out the other two nominations. Like we said, they still haven't got it right yet.
The Chems and Justice will also square off for Best Electronic/Dance Album with heavy competition from indie-rockers LCD Soundsystem and Shiny Toy Guns as well as trance megastar Tiësto.
Justice are also up for a third grammy for Best Short Form Music Video. Their T-shirt morphing vid for 'D.A.N.C.E.' will compete with the likes of music videos from Feist, Gnarls Barkley, Mute Math and Johnny Cash.
