  • Techno, dubstep and chalets are on the menu at next year's huge Bloc Weekend party. The Bloc Weekender is a Hi-Di-Hi holiday for Britain's techno set, held at Pontin's Holiday Park in Norwich. Expect swimming pools, go-kart tracks and even a full-sized game of fancy dress bingo organised by the Ceephax Acid crew. Yes, you read that right. But there's no need to dig out the tent pegs and wellies for this one. The festival happens indoors and all tickets include proper accommodation (ie. beds, loos, showers and kitchens) so you can even bring Nan. And did we mention the 24-hour booze license? But the music is the main draw, and this year's party looks like a stormer with the best of the UK underground assembling alongside some tasty internationals. Best of the non-Brits include live PAs from UR's Interstellar Fugitives, Convextion, Monolake, Cristian Vogel, Legowelt and Sleeparchive plus DJ sets from Juan Atkins and Joey Beltram, while Blighty is well represented with showcases from labels Skull Disco (Appleblim, Shackleton), Modern Love (Andy Stott, Claro Intelecto), Rephlex (Luke Vibert, Ceephax), Warp (Red Snapper, Milanese, The Black Dog), Sud Electronic (Portable), FWD (Skream, Kode9 & Spaceape) as well as veterans Amon Tobin, Dave Clarke, A Guy Called Gerald and Ben Sims. This one looks like a winner so book early to avoid disappointment. Mar 14-16 BLOC Weekend, Pontin's Holiday Park, Norwich
