  • London institution Fabric celebrates eight years with a three-day bender of indie, drum 'n' bass, breaks and techno. Eight years on and Fabric still has some of the biggest queues to the loos not to mention a steady stream of compilations. This year already, they've put out volumes by Tayo, Ellen Allien, Krafty Kuts, Ewan Pearson, Spank Rock, James Murphy & Pat Mahoney and Ricardo Villalobos with efforts on the way from Steve Bug and Justice before the year's out. Plenty to reasons to celebrate then. As in past years, the celebrations are divided into genre nights, with the club firing up the whistles, party poppers and even a few guitars on Thursday with indie-electro night Adventures in the Beetroot Field in the house. Expect live jams from Shit Disco, The Whip and Guns N Bombs as well as turntable action from fidget house guru Sinden and bloggers-cum-DJs Skull Juice. Friday night's birthday line-up for Fabriclive is of course drum 'n' bass and breaks with a big lineup including Adam Freeland, Goldie, Plump DJs, Andy C, Tayo and Krafty Kuts as well as dubstep impresario Skream. On Saturday, BPitch Control headmistress Ellen Allien heads up a night of techno and leftfield disco joined in room one by Mathew Jonson's jazz-improv trio Cobblestone Jazz, while Scots Optimo warm up for the mysterious Black Devil Disco Club in room two. Over in room three, it's a more Gallic affair with Ivan Smagghe and Freak N' Chic's Dyed Soundorom behind the decks alongside dirty discoists Rub N Tug. Which is it going to be?
