  • Liverpool's monthly house night celebrates five years this month with Steve Bug, Groove Armada and Armand Van Helden behind the decks. DJs have been heading up north to play Circus ever since the night rose from the ashes of Cream in 2002. Its up-for-it crowds have had top nights with everyone from Laurent Garnier and Digitalism to Kerri Chandler and Trentemoller, while Resident spinner and host Yousef has even been known to sneak in the occasional crowdsurf. This year, Circus moves from its regular home at Barfly to Cream's old hunting grounds Nation for its birthday bash. Groove Armada headlines the main room alongside Circus ringmaster Yousef while Poker Flat head honcho Steve Bug spins in the annexe together with Paul Woolford and DJ tag team S.O.S (Demi, Omid 16B & Desyn Masiello). Out in the courtyard, Felix Da Housecat, Armand Van Helden and Eric Prydz share decks duties with local night Rumours also hosting a fourth area with a strict eighties fancy dress theme. Out with the blue eye-liner and leg warmers then.
