- Blondie, Maurice Fulton and Diplo are among hundreds of artists gathering for the Lovebox Weekender festival in London. Dubbed as a mini-Glastonbury in the heart of London, the Lovebox Weekender brings together DJs and musicians handpicked by house duo Groove Armada. This year's two-day bash includes ten stages of indie (The Rapture, Fujiya & Miyagi), baile funk (Bonde Do Role), reggae (Toots & the Maytals), electropop (Hot Chip) and disco-punk (The Presets) with London club nights Secret Sundaze, Issst, Horse Meat Disco and Trojan Sound System all running individual stages. Look out for DJ sets from Switch, Digitalism, Tiga, Gilles Peterson and many more. This year Groove Armada have also invited some of their earliest musical heroes such as Sly and the Family Stone, Soul II Soul, Blondie and the B52s. If that doesn't pique your interest, Lovebox also has some of the most interesting stage names such as El Barrio, Strangelove and (the RA favourite) Insect Circus. Each night the music stops at 10:30 p.m. but the party carries on at numerous afterparties around London. Check RA Events for both official and unofficial afterparty listings.
