  • Basic Channel devotees DeepChord and Soultek join forces as Echospace, release ‘The Coldest Season.’ The album is out mid-August. In an uncharacteristic spurt of prolificacy, Rod Modell (aka DeepChord) has emerged from his Detroit studio once again – hot on the heels of his critically acclaimed ‘Vantage Isle’ triple-pack – having completed ‘The Coldest Season.’ Released under the Echospace moniker, the album is the product of his first collaborative effort with Soultek’s Steve Hitchell. Mining the rich territory of Berlin’s dub-techno pioneers Basic Channel and Chain Reaction, the album was recorded and produced in Detroit and Chicago using only vintage analog equipment. The end result promises to be a sonically rich document that brings the aesthetics of these three capitals of techno together, combining Berlin’s effervescent dub feedback, Detroit’s lush keys and Chicago’s distinct rhythmic sensibilities. Deepchord Presents: Echospace – 'The Coldest Season' tracklist 1. First Point of Aries 2. Abraxas 3. Ocean of Emptiness 4. Aequinoxium 5. Celestialis 6. Sunset 7. Elysian 8. Winter in Seney 9. Deepchord Presents: Echospace's 'The Coldest Season' will be released on Modern Love on August 17, 2007.
