  • Detroit techno legends Derrick May and Stacey Pullen bring their globetrotting club night Hi-Tek Soul back to Ministry of Sound this weekend. The Hi-Tek Soul concept takes its name from the documentary 'High Tech Soul', which charts the birth and evolution of Detroit techno. Set up by techno pioneer Derrick May, recent Hi-Tek Soul nights have taken place in Melbourne, Miami and Tokyo featuring guest DJs such as Rolando and Kevin Saunderson. Plans are even underway for a fully-fledged Hollywood movie of the same name. Got any suggestions on who should play the leading roles? Email RA and we'll pass them on. For their upcoming gig at MoS, May and Pullen will spin in the Box alongside British techno mainstay Jim Masters. At the last HTS night in London, Jeff Mills and Felix from Basement Jaxx were spied cutting shapes on the floor so remember to keep your elbows in. Elsewhere, Radio1's Gilles Peterson, house veteran Kenny Hawkes and Marc Hughes look after the Bar while the Housexy residents mix up house and electro in the Baby Box. Hi-Tek Soul happens this Saturday, May 19 at Ministry of Sound, London.
