  • Fabric will host an Aduna benefit night next month to raise money for African musicians and artists. Big beat pioneer Fatboy Slim, electrohouser Mylo and Blur's Damon Albarn will all perform. Aduna is an organisation that promotes positive images of Africa and employs music to counter negative stereotypes commonly associated with the continent. The fundraiser at Fabric will include DJ sets from Fatboy Slim, Mylo, Blur's Damon Albarn, Radio 1 DJs Zane Lowe and Annie Mac, Rachel Barton, Arthur Baker, Remi Kabaka and Aduna co-founder Dudu Sarr plus live performances from Ordinary Boys and Maroon Town. "Music is universal and the spirit of Aduna's work, in both the UK and in Africa, is to use it to help kids to communicate and learn. Going to Africa was life-changing for me. I strongly support Aduna and can't think of a more innovative organisation that encourages young people in both settings to go on new musical journeys together, ” says Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim. Funds raised from the event will support Aduna’s training programmes for young African musicians. Fatboy Slim, Mylo and Damon Albarn will play the Aduna benefit at Fabric, London on Thursday, November 16. 2006.
