Latest mix CD from house heavyweight Tony Humphries is a soulful journey from the club to the afterhours. 'Masterclass #02' is released next month.
Tony Humphries is best known for his Yellorange and Tony Records imprints which have showcased his eclectic music tastes for everything from Afro-Cuban jazz to Italian house. As a DJ, Humphries was one of the early picks for the Fabric compilation series. He's also produced mix CDs for Strictly Rhythm and Southport Weekender.
Next up for Humphries is a compilation in the Masterclass series which aims to capture the perfect night out from the sweaty club to the hazy afters. It's a journey that Humphries has chartered many times during his twenty years in the biz and consequently, there was no grand plan making the mix. Humphries says:
"What I was trying to do was put together a great album, plain and simple. CD1 are my songs that I like a lot from this current period. CD2 is what I listen to when I’m at home. Enjoy!"
The result is an energetic, soulful club mix on disc one including tracks by Joey Negro, Kerri Chandler and Todd Terry, and a second CD that steers into more adventurous territory.
