  • Sheffield club The Plug celebrates its first birthday this Friday with a DJ set by Andrew Weatherall plus live sets from Bugz in the Attic, Funk D'Void and Aim. Andrew Weatherall has a lengthy production CV with Sabres of Paradise and Two Lone Swordsmen as well production credits for the likes Primal Scream and Beth Orton, but this month he'll release his first EP under his own name 'Bullet Catcher's Apprentice' on the Rotters Golf Club lavel. Partygoers at The Plug will be some of the lucky to preview the new material when Weatherall plays the Neutral Room with Funk D'Void [Soma] and Dean Muhsin. Spare a thought for whoever has to foot the drinks bill in the Live Room: it features live sets from Aim and broken beat free soul outfit Bugz in the Attic, each nine members strong. Bugz in the Attic released their debut album 'Back in the Dog House' this summer so expect to hear the London collective belting out cuts off the album. Elsewhere the Earth Room will host Plug residents Peeky and Geoff Ticehurst. Andrew Weatherall and Bugz in the Attic play Plug this Friday, October 6, 2006.
