  • Hungry for a dance album that packs in the genres? Playtime house chef Mike Monday finally dishes up his debut album 'Smorgasbord' next week. Mike Monday, or Michael Mukhopadhyah at the check-in desk, is the London house DJ and producer who first pricked up ears in the nineties as one half of Beat Foundation with Andy Cato. After Cato quit the duo to focus on his other project Groove Armada, Monday began working as a solo producer, later releasing a handful of tracks on prog stable Whoop! Records. In the last twelve months, Monday has had singles on quality London outputs like Freerange and Simple. Together with Big Daddy, he also heads up off-kilter house imprint Playtime which will release his debut longplayer next err, Monday. Like the title suggests, Monday's debut album 'Smorgasbord' is an electronic feast, packed with everything from electro funk and booty-shaking basslines to anthemic synths and Orbital-esque melodies. Want to sample the cuisine before getting your ticket and table? Next Wednesday, Monday will play a one-hour mix of tracks from the album on his show on Push FM. Mike Monday 'Smorgasbord' Tracklist 1. Onshu 2. What Day Is It? 3. Fun With A K 4. Zumzum 5. Thing 6. Tooting Warrior 7. Ode To Jack 8. I Dream Of Ducks 9. Late Developer 10. When The Rain Falls. Mike Monday 'Smorgasbord' is released on Playime on September 18, 2006.
