- Notorious student party Chibuku Shake Shake in Liverpool celebrates the new school term with Berlin deep house dons Âme. Plump DJs, Cut Chemist plus Killa Kela and the Spit Kingdom crew complete the line-up that's weighty enough to knock any fresher sideways. It's time to crack open the books again but for Liverpool's wayward scholars the start of the new term means one thing: the return of Chibuku Shake Shake. After the summer sabbatical, the club night returns this Saturday headlined by Sonar Kollektiv's Âme whose anthem 'Rej' and remixes of Rodamaal and Akabu have been raising hands on dancefloors the world over. Âme will be joined by the fat beats and breaks of the Plump DJs as well as one man mouth orchestra Killa Kela and his crew Spit Kingdom. Turntablist Cut Chemist will also be chipping and chopping by hot on the heels of his latest longplayer ‘The Audience’s Listening’ with Chibuku residents Leo Belchetz & Wandy, Tane & The Beat Monkeys on warm-up duties. The following weekend London peeps can get another fix of Chibuku Shake Shake when Chibuku's new London residency kicks off at Herbal on Saturday September, 23.
