Claude VonStroke and Dan Ghenacia take London down deep and dirty July 15 at The Key. Don’t plan on catching any hot young thing's eye though. Everyone's going to be wearing sunglasses.
San Franciscan Claude VonStroke has blown up big this year thanks to the hits 'The Whistler' and 'Deep Throat', the latter of which is onto its sixth pressing, partly thanks to its wild video [28mb mov] [8mb wmv]. Debut album ‘Beware of the Bird’ has had positive notices and his tracks have been remixed by John Tejada and Patrick Chardronnet. Believe it or not, Mr. VonStroke is also an epic film director who has made a six-hour documentary on dance music titled ‘Intellect’. Please reply to our emails, sir. DC10 resident and recent RA podcast pick Dan Ghenacia DJs top of the bill and he knows his musical onions. Head of French funk n’ electro label Freak n’ Chic releasing the likes of Sweet Light and Jamie Jones, his Sunday evening DJ sets at Le Zebre have become a Paris institution with guests including Tejada, Guido Schneider, Matt John, Steve Bug, Marc Houle and Âme.
Ghenacia might be the perfect pick for the night as the man loves his shades. For The Sunglasses Party, promoters DDD (aka Downdeepanddirty) promise to don their silliest sunglasses and encourage punters to do the same.
DDD Residents Simon Baker [20:20 Vision, Infant] Ryan Shaw [Back2basics] and birthday boy Simon Morell round out the lineup.
