  • Mr Sam (aka Samuel Paquet) came to the fore last year with his hugely successful ‘Lyteo’ release which was hammered by the worlds biggest trance DJs and licensed to a wide variety of compilations including Paul van Dyk’s album ‘The Politics of Dancing (Vol 2)’. He has now announced the release of his debut artists album by the same name through Maelstrom Records. ‘Lyteo’, co-written with Tim Coltrane includes a wide range of collaborations with the likes of Kirsty Hawkshaw, Delirium's vocalist Rani, Shane 54, Crash Course in Science and top African vocalist 13OR. Mr Sam was invigorated working with his favourite vocalists and has aspired to make an album of diverse ‘songs’:
”I decided entirely by myself which vocalists I wanted to work with. I was as free as a bird to choose them and I'm really very proud to have these artists I've always loved on my album! I knew in advance that doing such a diverse album wasn't that easy, but I wanted to achieve it. I knew how to make dance, techno and trance records as I’ve been doing it for years. The challenge was more to compose a real artist album of songs rather than just 'tracks'. I'm really lucky that I had the opportunity and the chance to work with such incredible and talented vocal artists. I learnt a lot from them too and vice versa. For me, “Lyteo” is a result of successful teamwork. Everyone put his or her best into it. I like the idea to work as a team, just like a band. I really think you can hear the results in this album”
‘Lyteo’ By Mr Sam is out now on Maelstrom Records.
