  • Adam Freeland credits the Bassbin Twins as having a huge influence on the creation of his Marine Parade label, so it's fitting that he has asked the duo to mix a compilation of remixes of the label's most successful tracks. The Bassbin Twins, LA born, Belgium influenced and now San Francisco based are well known for remixing their favourite music in a live show format encompassing the electronic soundscape of house, breaks and drum ‘n’ bass. Freeland speaks highly of the Twins and says without them his influential Coastal Breaks release would have never materialized:
“In Bassbin Twins, I discovered the sound I had always wanted—no, needed—to hear. For me, it changed everything: in my headspace, a whole new universe just opened anew. Without that record and the other Bassbin moments to come, my 1998 debut mix album Coastal Breaks would not have come about—in fact, without Bassbin Twins there would certainly be no Marine Parade Records.“ “Some artists have their moment, then vanish: they do something fresh, accidentally inspire a whole new movement, and then disappear into obscurity. But the Bassbins have kept their ears to the ground and their fingers on the pulse. For our debut label compilation, we wanted to tell the story of where we have come from and how we have progressed, showing off our highlight moments and giving a tiny hint as to where we are going next. No one could do the job better than the ones who put match to gasoline in the first place: therefore, what an honour it is to present, Bassbin Twins Vs. Marine Parade.”
