Electrohouse imprint Get Physical have announced the release date of the second edition in their ‘Body Language’ mix CD series.
‘Body Language 2’ promises to be a more house-flavoured mix than M.A.N.D.Y’s first edition with mix CD virgin DJ T this time on the decks. DJ T is a producer and the former editor of the influential German dance music magazine Groove.
The announcement of ‘Body Language 2’ just before summer will be exciting to Get Physical converts as the first volume was the soundtrack to many holidays as the mercury rose last season. Not content to be a pure electrohouse mix, ‘Body Language 1’ fused a whole from a wealth of styles including house (Henrik Schwartz, Recloose), minimal techno (Marc Houle, Guido Schnieder), and electrohouse (Williams, Tiefschwarz).
First glance at the many unfamiliar names on ‘Body Language 2’ confirms the potential of the mix to break new artists. Many of the unknown cuts on ‘Body Language 1’ went onto become club staples including Lindstrom’s ‘I Feel Space’, Slam’s ‘This World’ and James Holden’s remix of André Kraml ‘Safari’. Title track ‘Body Language’ by Booka Shade and M.A.N.D.Y was voted Track of the Season 2005 by Ibiza DJs.
The mix also contains the usual dose of new tracks by Get Physical stablemates Booka Shade, M.A.N.D.Y, and Discemi, as well as Einzelkind’s ‘Marsha’, the first release on Get Physical’s new label Kindisch.
Like it’s predecessor, 'Body Language 2' roams outside of Berlin with respect given to the British electrohouse contingent (Spektrum, Serge Santiago) Cologne’s Kompakt (DJ Koze, Gui Boratto) and Detroit techno (Carl Craig, The Other People Place, aka recently deceased Drexciya member James Stinson.)
