  • Two of the fastest growing underground scenes Psy Trance and Breaks are set to merge for a new joint venture in London. Having worked successfully together at the UK’s Glade Festival Nano records and Breaksday are the crews behind this new project. The country’s first ever indoor Psy Trance / Breakbeats crossover night, entitled STIR, will take place at The Rennaisance Rooms in Vauxhall. Opening night (Sat May 13th) will feature Rennie Pilgrem & Chickaboo, Hybrid, Dreadzone Soundsystem, Aquasky, Pendulum, Diverted & Baobinga&30Hz pres The Bodysnatchers on the breaks floor, whilst the Psy Trance room will be in the control of Tristan, The Commercial Hippies, Allaby, Zen Mechanics, Ans and Edoardo. Rene Pilgrem is clearly excited by the co-assocation:
There aren’t many genres that can successful co-exist these days but after the awesome vibe of the Glade we realized that these were two tribes that definitely weren’t going to war.
Nano Records is one of the biggest names in the global Psy Trance scene having been promoting parties since the year 2000 and presenting Psy Trance at The Glade Festival and Glastonbury, the Nano crew have been instrumental in producing the now legendary Zambia and South Africa Eclipse parties, as well as the annual Origin Festival, South Africa’s premium Psy Trance 3 dayer. Breaksday started life as an idea by scene stalwarts Rennie Pilgrem, Pippa of TCR/HUM and Biff from Functional. It pushes to put the genre back on the map by hosting a varied breaks line-up at stand alone parties and tents at festivals.
