This May sees Guido Schneider make a return to Poker Flat Recordings with the release of his debut artist album, 'Focus On'.
Guido Schneider originally started working with Poker Flat back in 2003 as Glowing Glisses (with vocalist Florian Schirmacher), releasing three singles and an album. As a solo artist he has also released four 12 inches on the label, contributed several tracks to the Poker Flat 50 release including his remix of 'Loverboy' by label boss, Steve Bug.
He has collaborated with Andre Galluzzi on a track for Jay Haze‘s Tuning Spork label, remixed Moon Harbour's Daniel Stefanik, and is best known for his remix of Dub Kult's 'On And On' (appearing on compilations from Dominik Eulberg, M.A.N.D.Y and the 'Circoloco at DC10 Ibiza: Monday Morning' release) and also his remix of Brtschitsch & Galuzzi's 'Regenschauer'. His track 'Styleways' was also used on Richie Hawtin‘s 'DE9: Transitions' album.
'Focus On' is an album of impulsive and funky minimal house and features six new tracks plus some of Guido Schneider's best releases and remixes. Expect to hear trippy vocals and ping-pong-percussion alongside more pumping house numbers. "I want to send my listeners on a journey based on hypnotic grooves, but I like to break through the flow of sound with irritating details, " says Guido Schneider, about the album.
The album will be sold as a mixed 67-minute CD with the six brand new cuts also simultaneously released on vinyl.
