- Detroit Up beat Jazz and funk band NOMO have announced a US tour to promote their new album ‘New Tones’, which hits shelves in May.
Up beat Jazz and funk band NOMO (Not to be mistaken for breaks producers MOMU) have their feet firmly planted in the fertile soil of African polyrhythm and American free jazz. The Detroit 8 member group (Erik Hall, Olman Piedra, Dan Piccolo, Dan Bennett, Jamie Register, Justin Walter, Ingrid Racine, Elliot Bergman) have announced a US tour to promote their new album ‘New Tones’, which hits shelves in May.

Joining the group on tour is detroit producer Warren Defever (His Name Is Alive) who was charged with capturing the band’s live energy, and he shaped the sounds for maximum impact.
NOMU start touring in April, with Warren joining the tour in Cambridge, MA on May 15th.
