  • Drum'n'Bass II welcomes back an Australian favourite, Tayo, who has been winning Aussie crowds over for years, and will showcase relative newcomers Noisia from the Netherlands.

  • The first Drum & Breaks in Melbourne was held just recently on on New Years Eve. Building upon the brand and mix of two distinct genres, Intrabeatz have lined up Drum & Breaks II for Friday 31 March at the Prince of Wales. Headlining this event will an Australian favourite on the breaks scene, Tayo, and in a treat for the d'n'b fans some new blood with relative newcomers Noisia, from the Netherlands. Tayo has been involved in shaping today's break beat sound since the scene's very early days. Whether writing about breaks, DJing or promoting Tayo has proved himself an integral part of the breakbeat movement. His Mob Records imprint kicked off the Stanton Warriors rise to prominence,( releasing "Da Virus" and "Da Antidote") as well as the introduction of Beber & Tamra. Mob has also released remixes or brand new tracks from the likes of Ashley Beedle, Lee Coombs, Koma & Bones, Nu Breed and Phil Kieran. Tayo currently holds Residencies in Manchester and London with Bugged Out! as well as with Urban Guerilla in Sheffield. He is also resident and co promoter of ROOTY, alongside Basemnt Jaxx, and took the club onto the terrace at Space in Summer 2002. No stranger to our shores, expect Tayo to take us on another journey with his fluid - dub-infused breaks style. Noisia (the Dutch word for vision in reverse) are the trio of Nik Roos (20), Martijn van Sonderen(20) and Thijs de Vlieger (22) from Groningen (Holland). Noisia have in the last two years established their hold on the DNB scene with solid production work that has become crate essentials for every well known DJ, right down to those in the bedroom. With releases on the likes of Subtitles, Renagade Hardware, Moving Shadow and forthcoming on the prestigious Metalheadz label, as well as two tracks signed to Rockstar Games -Midnight Club 3, Noisia are quickly becoming the future sound of Drum & Bass! Drum & Breaks II will be Noisia's first ever visit to Australia. Their set is sure to entice many along to see the newcomers in drum'n'bass do it their way. Local support on the night comes from the breaks entertainers Brewster B and Lynt, and DJ Fletch. Tickets for the event are $33 +BF.
