The Nextmen are the UK hip hop production duo of Brad Baloo and Dom Search. In the wake of their two internationally successful albums ‘Amongst The Madness’ (75 Ark) and 'Get Over It' (Scenario Records), countless mixed releases, singles, remixes, bootlegs and the launch of their own label Custom Records, this brilliant pair continue to up the ante for home-grown hip-hop and eclectic electronic music in general. Now Brad Baloo brings his beloved Friends and Family! club night to Melbourne, happening every Friday in December at First Floor in Brunswick St, Fitzroy. The night is the further incarnation of Mark Rae's infamous session of the same name, that blazes through clubs in London, Manchester, Moscow, Oslo, and now returns to its Melbourne home. Brad comes armed with an arsenal of hot London sounds, too many tunes to spill over just one night, so every Friday in December he'll play host. And talk about inviting his finest Friends & Family members! Amongst the secret international guests from the UK, USA and NZ that will float through the weeks, check acts like Koolism, The Bamboos, Ransom, Raph Boogie, The Resin Dogs, Diafrix, Ennio Styles, RUCL, Chantdown Soundsystem, P.Digsss, Paz, Northside Records, Illzilla, Agent 86, Sean, Motive, JPS, Trooper, OneLC, Shapeshifter DJs, Select, Gsan, JRed, Nick Thayer with MC NFA, the Ghetto Fabulous Crew and many more! The night promises to be like one big party with live music, plenty of DJs over four decks and bits and bobs, all different eclectic musical styles, all blending together in the one room. You will hear warm summer vibes, Fat City beats, new soul, straight-up hip hop, rare grooves, jiggy jungle, deep dub'n'dancehall, brokenbeat, bashment and the boozy sound of London vs Melbourne!
