  • The eagerly awaited fifth artist album from Dreadzone is ready to drop in just under three weeks with an Australian tour following closely behind. Dreadzone have been around for ten years, notched up in excess of 125,000 album sales, created a reputation for a stunning live show and garnered support from legends such as Annie Nightingale and the late, great John Peel. They were the originators of a sound that blended dub and reggae with house, breaks and ambient grooves that has left a lasting impression on an ever-growing fan base. Now in 2005 founder member Greg Dread (originally from Big Audio Dynamite) alongside Ben Balafonic, the unmistakable M.C Spee, legendary reggae vocalist Earl 16, the original bassmaster Leo Williams and guitarist Steve Roberts put on one of the most talked about live shows of the 2005 UK festival season, under the moniker Dreadzone Sound System. Their style fuses technology with a live rhythm section and both old and new tunes. The new album 'Once Upon A Time' is set for release on November 3 on Functional Breaks/Inertia. It aims for longevity with its subtle blend of timeless and cutting edge. It is also the most song-laden long-player by the group, featuring a stronger presence of vocals, lyrics and harmonies than ever before. The album also gives full expression to the band’s wide scope; not content with a unique sound that ranges from dub to jump up dance music, live shows, DJ sets, remixes, film and TV music, here they have let their songwriting skills truly flourish. Catch their recent sounds and witness their live show for yourself from November onwards. Dreadzone are back!
