After a recent trip down-under Defected boss Simon Dunmore earmarked Australia as a place the label needed to spread its house wings. “ I saw that there was a huge House scene in Sydney. Tank has some incredible international artists and this is definitely the right place for us to be”. Adding to its current residencies in Spain, Switzerland, Benelux, France, Germany, Singapore, Bangkok, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Tokyo and South Africa, they will head to Australia.
On October the 28th Defected will begin the first week of its residency in Sydney, Australia at Tank nightclub. The night will also act as the launch night for the new Defected In the House International Compilation mixed by Copyright. It will feature the full roster of Defected artists appearing every week including Copyright, Martin Solveig, Sandy Rivera, Reel People, Junior Jack and Kid Crème.
Friday is the day of choice, with former with former UK based Defected DJ Alan Thompson the new weekly resident. Artists set to appear under the Defected umbrella will include Jay J, DJ Jori, John Julius Knight, Brian Tappert, CJ Mackintosh, Dimitri from Paris, Bob Sinclar and Hardsoul. The award winning venue proudly boasts “At this club we ONLY play House", so its fitting that one of the worlds foremost house labels has set up a key residency within its walls.
