  • Sounds Group, the events company behind We Love… Sounds at the Hordern Pavilion and the crew who have firmly established Sunday as a major clubbing institution just north of the harbour have announced their amicable split. Sounds have cited creative differences and their commitment to continue delivering a high standard of event as reasons for their departure. Sounds Group co-founder Ben Korbel had this to say about his company’s move:
“We’ve had an amazing five years creating a memorable weekly party at Greenwood though it’s now time to look towards the future and move on to newer, exciting pastures, providing Sydney with the best clubs and events possible. We’d like to thank everyone for their support to date and look forward to seeing you again at our Sounds club nights and events where we’ll continue delivering the parties that you love with the Sounds attention to detail you’ve come to expect. These include Safari (PLAN B), Renaissance Summer Ball (HOME) feat Sasha, James Zabiela & Nic Fanciulli, We Love… Sounds 2006 (HORDERN), NYE On The Harbour feat. Boogie Pimps & Mark Knight (CARGO) and a dozen national tours over the summer through our new agency Egg, including Tiefschwarz, Ivan Smagge, King Unique, Damian Lazarus, Mark Knight & Kraak & Smaak. Stay tuned for a new weekly club…”
The Sounds goup have been diversifying in recent years and alongside their large scale events have also been the joint promoters of After Ours at YU, a post they will be leaving as part of this new arrangement. Sounds On Sunday will continue to run at Greenwood under new management, with no continued involvement from the Sounds Group.
