  • The End’s ‘As One’ night will showcase the Skint 10th Anniversary party this coming weekend (September 3rd). Celebrating the ace Brighton based label set up by Damian Harris in 1995 the night will include artists from the Skint family, including FC Kahuna, Phil Kieran and Midfield General, aka label founder Damian Harris, who will be getting together to bring back the memories and pave the way for the future. The label’s impact over the past decade has been huge, pushing the ‘big beat’ sound through the likes of Fatboy Slim and giving a platform to artists as essential and diverse as FC Kahuna, International Pony, Freq Nasty, and Damian Harris’ own creation Midfield General. You will have heard many of the recent Skint mixes on Radio and in clubland - from Fatboy Slim releases such as ‘Praise You’, ‘Right Here Right Now’, and ‘Gangster Trippin’, FC Kahuna’s ‘Machine Says Yes’, Dave Clarke’s ‘The Compass’, Tiga’s ‘Hot In Herre’, and X-Press 2’s ‘Smoke Machine’ and ‘Lazy’. On The night the main room will host FC Kahuna and Phil Kieran, whilst in the lounge Damian Harris will be joined by Cut La Roc and Lo-fi All Stars, for a; a full on mash up of breaks, beats, hip hop and debauched electronic classics. Meanwhile partygoers in AKA will be cutting loose to the sound of regulars Sancho Panza, who after a hectic Notting Hill Carnival weekend will be keen to show off new kerb side stormers.
