  • One of the parties which undoubtedly had an impact on Berlin and its techno scene in the early to mid nineties and left a gaping hole in the scene after the closure of E-Werk in 1997, was Dubmission. Started in the early '90s at Turbine and showcasing sounds from abroad to pounding hardcore acid beats, the night gave rise to the influential duo of New Kids on The Decks, which consisted of Kid Paul and one Paul van Dyk. Between then and the mid-nineties the Dubmission concept swept across the nation, reaching other German cities including Frankfurt, Bochum and even as far afield as Bielefeld. It wasn't long before big headline DJs like Sven Vath began appearing in its line-ups. However with no fresh blood to keep things moving forward the night eventually ended, much to the disappointment of the Dubmission faithful. Now, in 2005, the Dubmission concept is about to be reborn and the party which gave rise to some of the biggest names in dance music will once again stamp its mark on Berlin's nightlife at Kapital, a club which was formerly the rooms of an old bank. The first of the new Dubmission parties will take place on September 23rd and will feature Superstition's Mijk van Dijk, Thomas Schumacher and local hero Wimpy.
