  • Turning back the clock 130 years, Fat Tuesday will showcase a party philosophy that was rocking the New Orleans Mardi Gras street festival all those years ago. On the August Bank Holiday Weekend (August 27th and 28th) at TDK Cross Central, Fat Tuesday will take place at ‘The Foyer Bar’ featuring a blend of jazz, soul, funk, gospel and hip-hop. The London leg is the seventh in a series of parties held across the UK and to create a musical fusion worthy of representing one of the world’s greatest musical cities, a wide variety of talented artists will be on show. Saturday will feature a hip-hop inspired line-up with DJ sets from Blackbeard and Nextmen. After meeting on a recent trip to the city, New Orleans rapper Che Muse, will feature with UK duo Rodney P and Skitz in an exclusive live collaboration. Through a recent third party introduction the trio has collaborated on a track entitled ‘The Beast’ which they will showcase for the first time at Cross Central. Grand Central’s Mark Rae (ARP) will join up with with hot new talent Ayak. Sunday’s line-up will feature a back to back DJ set from Gilles Peterson and Keb Darge, as well as Lindstrom and Ashley Beedle. Brighton Re-Editors Soft Rocks will play live alongside Fat Camp (and their Vitrutal Band), Yam Who (performing with Chaz Jankel).
