  • It is only fitting that Rob Da Bank has been called up to provide us with the sounds of number 24 in the Fabric series. The Fabric series has always pushed non conventional sounds through both their club nights and mix albums. Their mix compilations have become some of the most forward thinking and popular electronic releases in recent years. Enter Rob Da Bank, a journalist, label owner, radio + club DJ and festival organizer whose one similarity across all facets of his roles within the industry has always been a passion for pushing undiscovered and fresh music. Ten years ago he began the Sunday Best night in Clapham which then spawned a label now home to the likes of Grand National, Lazyboy, Max Sedgley, Subway and others. His first love broadcasting has seen him produce two shows for the UK’s Radio 1, Blue Room and One Music. Fabric 24 is another example of his ability to blend a multitude of styles across the allotted time, so much so that this album includes everything from melodic techno, quirky breaks, house and even a trip into darker territory. Roger Milla’s Pépé Kallé makes an appearance, doubling as a tribute to Robs inspiration:
"The Roger Milla track is included as a tribute to John [Peel]. I first heard it on his show. When I took over the shows it was something we played for the same reason. That’s his record, totally... I suppose I’m somewhere between John Peel and ...well, a DJ!"
