  • The Def Mix Productions team in tandem with Saw Recordings makes a welcome return to the island of Ibiza this coming Saturday, June 11th for the start of their seventh consecutive summer residency at the legendary Pacha. The production unit, now consisting of Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Satoshi Tomiie and Hector Romero came to define the New York house sound in the late eighties and early-mid nineties with its classic piano-driven house. One of the last few dance music production outfits to record their music in an actual studio, up-tempo piano riffs, house vocal breaks and the use of strings became the stylistic trademarks of the dozens of remixes DefMix churned out in the '90s. Over the course of the Ibiza party season RA will be featuring a series of interviews with the members of the Def Mix team and guests from its star-studded summer line-up, which this year includes Hernan Cattaneo, DJ Vibe, Pete Heller, Chus & Ceballos, Oscar G, The Shapeshifters, Lexicon Avenue, Danny Rampling, Ricky Montanari, Chab, Soulfuric and David Picconi. The Def Mix residency at Pacha will run for an incredible seventeen weeks every Saturday from June 11th to October 1st. Check RA's Ibiza Events Listings for full details of the line-ups each week.
