Live artists often hop behind the decks to mix-it-up (pun intended) and for logistical reasons it is often far easier to gig hope as a solo artist with a few record bags as opposed to a moutons of live gear. One popular UK break beat artist will be going back to his roots this European summer. After several years djing around the Globe, Rennie Pilgrem has been sharpening up his keyboard skills in preparation for a series of special live gigs this summer. Rennie cut his teeth as part of Rhythm Section who were often found rocking rave stages over a decade ago. He also did a lot of live gigs as ‘Thursday Club’ and Philadelphia Bluntz and now he’s getting back into saddle.
Speaking about the change the TCR record books discusses the live concept:"People had have 15 years of djs as the main providers of electronic music, the time is now right to put cutting-edge stuff back in to a live context. We are not trying to be a rock band, we are a dance band."
