  • It's the time of year when we get a massive influx of DJs seeking warmer climes and sun, as the northern hemisphere plunges into autumn and cooler times. It's always regarded as a bonus though as our summer party season becomes packed with great talent to see and hear! Family at Seven Nightclub in Melbourne have a packed roster of international DJs coming through the door to entertain the house fans. Let us give you a brief run down. Dropping in to play in November 20 will be Paul Farris (Defected) and Richard Earnshaw (Soulfuric), representing the two biggest labels in house music today, will for the first time in Australia put together a showcase of unparalleled style as they display the skills and sounds that have put them among the house elite. Farris and Earnshaw will play back to back sets of the most upfront house Defected and Soulfuric has to offer. November 27 will see Shapeshifters (Nocturnal Groove) hit town. Shapeshifters are the chart-topping West London house-duo Simon Marlin and Max Reich, who this year produced ‘Lola’s Theme’. They’re about quality music and bouncing parties, and are leading the current charge of house music’s renaissance that has seen an exciting upsurge in the scene this year. Get ready for stand out irresistible grooves, addictive hooks and epic sounds! The godfather of Italian house music, Joe T. Vannelli, hits Family in December 18 for the fist time in his illustrious career. One of the world’s most in demand DJ/producers, JTV has scored over 18 gold and 2 platinum records during his legendary 17-year career. Italy’s finest DJ has remixed the likes of Thelma Houston, Bohannon and Giorgio Moroder as well as discovering and nurturing talents like Robert Miles and Spiller. And last but not least, January 15 marks the return of Martin Solveig (Mixture Stereophonic – France) to Family, as he showcases new material from his second album. France has become a trail-blazer in world house music with Martin Solveig at the cutting edge of this drive. With crossover success in the form of massive singles ‘I’m a good man’ and ‘Rocking Music’, Solveig represents everything that is fresh and chic about the French house movement.
