  • Summadayze 2005 on Saturday January 1 is set to celebrate the coming of the New Year, and hopefully what will prove to be a red hot summer day. The party venue will be the Sidney Myer Music Bowl and this time Future Entertainment are not only providing the usual super fun happy slide to help you cool off, but also a giant sprinkler for some sophisticated exhibitionist action. If you don’t think you’ll be in the mood for getting wet then reconsider after getting into the alcoholic slurpies served at the bar. However, additions to the fun never come without subtractions. In a shock move that not even Nostradamus himself could’ve predicted, Junior Jack and Kid Crème have cancelled their Australian tour. Fortunately Future has been quick to replace them with a live performance by Miguel Migs and Lisa Shaw. Also added to the list of internationals is DJ Cassius who be playing alongside Armin van Buuren, De La Soul, Adam Freeland, Tim Deluxe & Darren Emerson, Meat Katie, Lee Coombs, Moguai, Phil Fuldner, and Coloursound. As well as all the big name internationals already announced, there will be a solid lineup of locals including John Course, Sean Quinn, Phil K, Jason Midro, Luke Chable, Grant Smillie, Mark James and Jono Fernandez. The lineup is a stunning example of the Summadayze “something for everyone” approach which for one day a year actually seems to work. Early bird tickets have already sold out so that probably means it will be jam packed as usual. What it definitely means is that tickets are now $80+bf and can be bought through Ticketmaster and all the usual stores. For more ticket information hit the FE website. Hop to it!
