Long the domain of the club DJ, the dance music scene is slowly being infiltrated by a new predator. Live electro acts are forming in packs across the globe with their samplers, MPCs, synths and associated devices of groove. One such group are Brisbane producers Statler and Waldorf, currently travelling Australia with their broad sound, but having their heart set on performances further abroad.
Live, the duo explores the darker side of breaks, mixing live synths and vocals with hard beats and deep bass. Their new EP titled ‘Collusions’ extends their deserved live reputation beyond the club into the studio. Consisting mainly of collaborations, the release features the sounds of Paul Kelly, Blue MC (Bionik World) and Miss Brown (Solo and Soma Rasa) and showcases a subtler aspect of the duo.
Quality original music from Australian shores. Is released on CD through Freefall Records/MRA.
