  • Tayo has been one of the breaks scene’s biggest players since day one, helping shape the nu skool sound in the late 90’s alongside fellow breaksters Adam Freeland and Rennie Pilgrem. He was also at the pinnacle in promoting the breaks scene to a much larger audience through his work as a journalist, writing reviews of club nights, as well as working as a press officer for labels and artists including The Stanton Warriors, Lee Coombs, Meat Katie, Krafty Kuts and of course Australian act Nubreed. His DJ sets and production skills have been heard the world over, with some of the most memorable having been at Beatz & Bobz nights, the UK’s longest running monthly breaks event. Since 2000, Tayo has notched up a few compilation mixes with two Y4K mix albums for Distinctive, and the first MOB Deep Compilation on his own label Mob Records. Tayo has built a massive following in Australia where he has toured in January for the last four years. Tayo also regularly plays around Europe, especially Spain and Ibiza and his Dread at the Controls show on London’s Kiss FM has provided a weekly Mecca for breaks fans all over the world, enabling them to hear the unmistakable floor-filling sounds of Tayo. Tayo has just mixed ‘Beatz & Bobz Volume 3’. The album is a rough shot ride into the world of Tayo, showing some of his dub influences through tracks such as Smith & Mighty’s 1995 classic ‘Down In Rwanda’ and also Mykal’s ‘Rose No Burial’ which is raw beats for the serious heads, and featuring plenty of tunes from big names within Breaks. The album was road tested with recent sets at Meat Katie & Rennie Pilgrem's night Hum and The Glade Festival with fantastic results.
