The Ibiza clubbing season officially took off earlier this month with a fresh kick to the industries-pants as loads of hot gossip, great nights and new albums keep clubland on their toes. One of the biggest releases in the spotlight at the moment is the joint venture between two of the biggest names in the dance music world. Renaissance presets Pacha Ibiza is a 3xCD compilation hosting a variety of the sounds that cover the spectrum of Pacha’s flavour in Ibiza.
Despite a few press mixups, disc one (not disc three) is mixed by Wally Lopez, who started his first Pacha residency just last year and has since grown quite a following. Wally brings his twisted yet respected tribal house sounds kicking off the first disc with tracks from Behrouz, Jaydee, David Guetta and Francesco Farfa. A regular guest to Pacha - Kiko Navarro - takes on the second CD representing the Pachacha Room (think disco styled quirky latin funk). And the last disc is cover by the sounds of Andy B together with the famed-singer-turned-DJ Neneh Cherry. This pair spin the hip-hop and R&B sounds that are covered by the Pacha’s Global Room. P. Diddy, A Tribe Called Quest, and Roots Manuva all feature.
