  • Many people, in and out, of the house circle will have heard of Allister Whitehead. Long ago in 1987 at the tender age of 17, Allister took to DJing and from here, has built a rather strong name for himself. From playing at the Hacienda in the early days (his first big break) and gaining respect in an ever growing house scene, to playing in front of thousands of clubbers every week and releasing a string of successful house compilations with chart topping single releases. His commerical success has been catapulted by working with people such as Martha Walsh, Natalie Imbruglia and Robbie Williams. The reason why the light is shining on Allister at this moment, is because he has put together a remix of Nightwriters classic tune 'Let the Music (Use You)' on Phuturetrax. The mix has gone straight to #1 on the Buzz Chart and has gathered widespread support from Pete Tong, Lottie, Deep Dish, Seb Fontaine, Tom Stephan with many others lined up behind them. Allister says:
'It is a record that evokes the spirit of '88. It was a time when a lot of things came together in music and culture and to me this song was the theme. Like a lot of tunes from that time it doesn't feel finished. I felt listening to the original track now it's hard to understand what it meant to people first time round and I wanted to put that straight!'
Look out for Allister as he will be doing the rounds across the UK over the next few months plus, listen out for him each month on Brian Cheetham's 'Moving House' radio show on Ministry of Sound radio.
