  • itunesOne of only a select number of independent dance music labels currently invited to participate, ‘System Recordings’ has announced its inclusion on the new Apple iTunes Music Store. As of December 11, 2003, System is bringing original music downloads from DJ/producers Dieselboy, DJ Icey, Frankie Bones, Micro, Bad Company and Mutiny UK, as well as up-and-comers like Joshua Ryan, Kaos, Karl K and Jae Kennedy, with more to follow. Named Time Magazine’s “Coolest Invention of 2003,” and Fortune Magazine’s “Invention of The Year,” the revolutionary digital download technology allows anyone, sans subscription, to download songs at just $0.99 apiece and albums at $9.99 apiece. Now available to both Mac and PC users, iTunes promises to revolutionize the fledgling record industry with high quality, reliable, legal downloads from all five major music companies and a limited number of indie labels. Early successes for the dance music world include the download popularity of the remix for Sting’s “Send Your Love” by internationally renowned Ovum/System artist Josh Wink and the hit remix of Bad Company‘s “Grunge 3” by America’s drum & bass prodigy Dieselboy, both featured on Top Download Charts. Also coming soon will be exclusive iTunes releases from System Recordings artists Mutiny UK, Nigel Richards. Speaking about iTunes the CEO of System recordings Louis Montorio has said
“As on-line retailers begin to fill consumer download needs, iTunes has delivered what I believe to be the most comprehensive user interface, enabling the consumer to focus on listening to and downloading their favorite and new music. We are very excited to be a part of this.”
iTunes is a huge development and is one of the few download options accepted by both the record labels and the consumers.
