  • RA has been telling you about the Likuid and Phreakin crews for quite some time. Now the two have teamed up to bring Asad Rizvi to Melbourne on Saturday 8 November. Asad has been a leading proponent of the tech-house sound for over 7 years. With over 40 releases to his name and DJ itineraries that have spanned five continents, the 25-year-old Londoner has developed a distinctive sound that has consistently won him support from the industry’s leading music publications and DJs alike. Dubbed a “new school hero” by Muzik in 1998, “Producer for 2000” by Mixmag, and a “DJ for 2000” in The Face, Asad has proved himself an artist who never fails to deliver. Asad is best known for his solo work as Silverlining. The Silverlining Exposures compilation CD features Asad’s key remixes and productions and won numerous accolades in the dance press including a “Compilation of the Year” in M8 Magazine. Asad’s versatility in his music is also reflected in his ability to DJ many styles and he has regularly played at some of the most respected UK nights such as Fabric, Wiggle, and The End’s Subterrain. Support on the night comes from local proponents of the tech house sound, Jeff Tyler, Paul Agius, Lance Harrison, Luke Moylan, Matt Keleher, Pip D’Aloia and Tyson. The gig will take place and the recently renovated and very plush new venue Passion, at Vault 8, Banana Alley, Flinders St, City. Entry on the night will be $10 on the guestlist and $15 on the door. To get on the guestlist email [email protected] or register at DMC records, 211 Commercial Rd, South Yarra.
