  • In the volatile, yet rather new global industry of dance music record labels it is normally the label that brings a close to the dedication of its manager, however well respected Scottish techno-house DJ/producer Chris Cowie has cut his ties with Hook and Bellboy records, the labels which he has helped build to their current successful status. With Hook covering the trance and up tempo progressive edge and Bellboy setting itself as a world leader in the techno and house space the labels quickly grew to become leading purveyors in their respective fields. A move from the labels original HQ in Aberdeen to London in 2000 was a sign of their reputation as a leading UK label. In 2001 they moved again to Barcelona, whilst Chris moved to Holland, a decision he says is part of the big picture that he had planned. Chris is leaving the label in the very capable hands of co-founder Stuart Emslie, and is said to be looking forward to concentrating on more studio time and Djing. With over 200 productions to his name, its no doubt he wants a moment to sit back and enjoy his fine efforts.
