- The Deepblak man will issue his fourth full-length in November.
AYBEE will release his fourth LP, The Odyssey, via his Deepblak Recordings on November 4th.
The Oakland-born, Berlin-based producer (real name Armon Bazile) has been charting a singular path since emerging in 2004 with a debut 12-inch on the revered Prescription imprint. As of late, his house sound has opened up to more experimental, Afrofuturist tendencies most clearly heard on Sketches Of Space, the cosmic jazz-influenced full-length he made with Afrikan Sciences.
The press release says the new one follows in true Deepblak fashion, drawing from "jazz, deep house, techno, hip hop, blues, experimentation, cinema, space, time and infinity." Sonically, the label says The Odyssey finds a middle ground between the improvisational sound of Sketches of Space and S.A.T., Bazile's collaborative trio with Jerome Sydenham and Ron Trent.
Watch the video for the first single, "Man Over Machine." (The track will precede the album as part of a single out September 23rd.)
