  • Unsound will head to Bishek in Kyrgyzstan on May 20th, Batumi in Georgia on May 27th and New York on June 16th. The Polish festival already revealed its theme for the next two years: dislocation. They also expanded their schedule of international events, with programs planned across Eastern Europe and Central Asia, as well as in Malmö and Toronto. Their three-day event in the Kyrgyzstan capital includes a collaboration between Moritz Von Oswald and Ordo Sakhna that links electronic sounds with traditional Kyrgyz instruments. Raster-Noton affiliate Robert Lippok (of the group To Rococo Rot) is also on the bill for a collaboration with visual artist Lillevan and Bishkek-based Askat Jetigen, as are Robert Henke, with his Monolake Surround project, and Hamburg DJ Helena Hauff. Next up is Batumi, Georgia, where German poet and producer AGF will unveil a new collaboration with Tbilisi's Natalie Beridze. Janus members Lotic and MESH are also booked, playing alongside a number of Georgian electronic musicians like Aux Field and Jorjick. Their New York program will be more compact than previous years, starting with a double-header at Lincoln Center on June 16th: Elysia Crampton will premiere a new work that is part theatre and part live music performance, then Alessandro Cortini will follow with his modular synth setup. On the 17th, Unsound will host a collaborative event with local techno promoters Bunker New York, followed by another on the 18th with the Sustain-Release crew.
