  • Cuban festival Manana has announced another clutch of acts playing this year's debut edition in May. News of the three-day event first broke in October. Joining the mix of artists already announced, which ranges from established international stars (Mala, Plaid, Adrian Sherwood) to esteemed local talents (Galis, Rumba Ache), will be Manchester DJ Madam X, Black Acre affiliate DJ Khalab, LA beat star Gifted & Blessed and acid house pioneer A Guy Called Gerald. One of Manana's main aims is to open up a dialogue between electronic music and the traditional folkloric sounds of eastern Cuba, inviting collaborations between the artists. To facilitate this, they've secured Santiago's Museo De La Musica for the ten days leading up to the festival, which they'll transform into "an artistic hub with fully equipped rehearsal rooms, translators and relaxation spaces." Thanks to the support of EGREM, Cuba's national record label, some of these collaborations will be recorded. More acts will be added in the coming months. Manana will take place from May 4th through 6th at Teatro Heredia in Santiago. Watch Gifted & Blessed's recent RA sessions below.
