  • Nuits Sonores has revealed the complete lineup for its 2016 edition, starting May 4th. Having recently outlined the details of the daytime lineups curated by Motor City Drum Ensemble, Laurent Garnier and Seth Troxler, festival organisers have now shared their nighttime programme. This year will be the last time they will take over the city's former wholesale market, Ancien Marché de Gros, as the compound is due to be demolished towards the end of 2016. On Wednesday, May 4th, the festival's first night will feature plenty of live performances. While Halle 1 welcomes the likes of Pantha Du Prince, Red Axes and Turzi, Halle 2 will be dedicated to techno with Regis, Paula Temple, In Aeternam Vale and Unforeseen Alliance, AKA Zadig, Voiski, Antigone and Birth Of Frequency. Peaches will headline the third stage, which is being hosted by Lyon queer collective Garc¸on Sauvage. DJ sets on the first night will come from Dixon, Rødhåd and Horse Meat Disco, who will each close a stage. In keeping with past editions, the Thursday night will go down at various venues throughout the city, showcasing guests like Jus-Ed, Zenker Brothers, Veronica Vasicka, Matias Aguayo, Isolee and Ron Morelli. They'll perform alongside local artists, including CLFT Militia, Lb, AKA Labat, and BFDM duo The Pilotwings. The Friday night, May 6th, will see two other festivals each curate a stage as part of We Are Europe—an EU-funded programme that brings together eight European events. In Halle 1, Moderat, Bambounou, Low Jack, Domenique Dumont will perform for Cologne's C/O Pop, while in Halle 2, Austria's Elevate Festival will welcome Powell, Ninos Du Brasil, James Holden and local trio J-Zbel. On the third stage, which is dedicated to African sounds, Africaine 808, Auntie Flo and Mawimbi will play alongside Congo bands Mbongwana Star and Konono n°1. The fourth night, May 7th, will see Grenoble veteran The Hacker debuting a new live project under his real name, Amato. Other highlights that night include Lil' Louis, DJ Harvey, Max Cooper and Concrete resident S3A, who will play live. The full programme can be found on the Nuits Sonores website.
