  • The new label Consolidate just dropped its first compilation, FRNDS & FMLY '16. The new imprint was inspired by a Facebook page used to share music coming from Bangalore's local scene. The label officially launched in January with the release of a collaborative single from electro-acoustic group Machli as well as producers Disco Puppet and Skippy. Consolidate's first compilation mostly features producers from the label's home city, many of whom have ties to the Magnetic Fields festival that takes place every year in a palace five hours outside of Delhi. It sketches out a distinct sound for the label, one that brings leftfield hip-hop and electronics together with an emphasis on songwriting. It's available to download now from Bandcamp on a name-your-price basis. Listen to the compilation in full below.
