  • Derek Plaslaiko and Chuck Daniels will play Can You Dance To My Beat in Detroit this Saturday. The name of the night might be especially familiar to seasoned Detroit ravers—and not just because it's a line from the classic 1998 Blaze track "My Beat." Way back in early 1999, Daniels threw a party, the first he produced on his own, with Derrick Carter and Mark Farina headlining, and Plaslaiko—before his own rise to international underground favorite—on opening duties. Plaslaiko, now living in Berlin, will return to Detroit and split the bill with Daniels this Saturday at Marble Bar. Hosted by Daniels' long-running Sampled Recordings label, the night will serve as an occasion "to revel in our roots and celebrate how far we have come."
