  • A new festival called Strange Sounds From Beyond will launch in Amsterdam this summer. Taking place at Noorderlicht on Sunday, June 26th, the daylong event is being co-hosted by Outsiders, Red Light Radio and The Rest Is Noise—each of the three outlets will host its own stage. As its name implies, the festival will bring leftfield music to the fore. The confirmed DJs so far are Gilles Peterson, Acid Arab, Antal, Young Marco and Red Light Radio co-founder Orpheu The Wizard, while live acts include Ata Kak (who appeared on Awesome Tapes From Africa in 2015), Vangelis Katsoulis (who was the focus of a reissue on Into The Light a couple of years back) and Bear Bones, Lay Low. More names will be added to the bill in the coming weeks.
